One big thing I learned about myself during my pandemic home-time was – no work and all play makes Jen cuckoo. Luckily I was called back to work before I completely immersed myself into the abyss of crazy. Then things were going great for a little while until BAM, right before the holidays my hours were reduced to part-time. (Temporarily I was told.) Part-time was definitely better than no-time but not as great as full-time. But I’ve managed to muddle through this extra spare time these past months but at the same time, I began to really resent my work-time. Really-really. So what did I do to try to make things better? I found a part-time job to keep myself busy. And guess what? I’m beginning to feel happy again. I love being busy. And somehow I managed to find exactly what I wanted – a part-time casual retail position only a half mile away from home. Woohoo!

So, what kind of store is it? It’s a store that sells lingerie and sexy adult stuff. You know what I’m talking about, wink, wink. It feels like ages since I’ve been this excited to work. The stuff I have to learn, I feel like I enrolled in sex ed! One of my reading materials was titled, Prostate Your Mate. OMG that still cracks me up. I may be working for peanuts but my goal was to fill my time with something interesting. And boy, my time is definitely filled with learning about crazy interesting sexy stuff! I’ll never look at a prostate the same again. Um, actually, I’ve never seen one and I really don’t plan to except in a diagram but you know what I mean.

My husband is totally on board with my new time filler. Boy B laughed when I told him. He said, mom, I’d bet you’ll have some funny stories, which I’m sure will be true. Actually, everyone pretty much laughed when I told them. Seems like a good fit for me. Who knew? Well, except my dad. He thinks the store sells porn. I had to tell him twice it doesn’t. I still don’t think he believes me but that’s what dads are like, right? Anyway, this new chapter in my life seems like it’s gonna be a lot of fun. And when my normal job eventually goes back to full-time, I plan on keeping this one as long as I can. Busy is best. So stay tuned for updates on my experiences. I’m sure there will be lots to share.
