Sometimes I’m quite baffled at how easy it is to be married this second time around. Maybe since my husband and I have been divorced before, we know what didn’t work so we avoid repeating that as much as possible. Or maybe it was just meant to be. We both agree, because we met at a time in our lives when we were comfortable with ourselves as we were, being together just added more. That’s why I often refer to my guy as the burger to my fries. Both on their own are great but when you put them together, you get one tasty meal.😆
One thing I love most about our relationship is how often we laugh together. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and can laugh at each other and at ourselves with no offense given or taken. For instance, my guy was raised in Kentucky so he still has a light southern accent. I admit, I hear Foghorn Leghorn in my head every time he says ‘in my opinion’ and when he says stuff like ‘code’ instead of ‘cold’ and how he says ‘pie’ still cracks me up even 10 years later. (Sometimes I think he plays it up just for my benefit.😍)
To give you an idea of how we generally interact with each other, here are a few ‘he said, she said’ moments we’ve had…
When he understands my techno-tarded speak…
She said: Do we have a ups plug? He said: You mean USB cable She said: Right, UPS plug He said: Yes, we do
She said: Which HTTP do I have to put the TV on to get back to cable? He said: Put it on HDMI 2
A little role reversal…
He said: Can we talk about our relationship? She said: Maybe later. College Gameday is on
He said: That Thomas is gonna get what's coming to him She said: I can't believe you are still talking about Downton Abbey
When you add a splash of alcohol, processing what was heard can sometimes become skewed…
He said: The reports said there weren’t any nude deaths She said: I didn't know they were counting naked people He said: NEW. DEATHS.
He said: Those people were in tents She said: What does camping have to do with it? He said: Intense! They were intense!
Live, Love, and LAUGH! It’s SO effing true!!!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
