Stick ‘em up!

When I was young, I had a fascination with office supplies. I collected all sorts of pens, markers, notebooks, journals, calendars, ledgers, etc. I even went as far as buying a book of receipts and message pads just for the heck of it. Forms were fun! But that was a long time ago. Now, I’m not so fond of forms. And despite my overall techno-tardedness, my calendar and note pad are currently stored in my phone. My, how things have changed.

However, there is one office product that has survived through the years. Sticky notes. I can’t stop buying them. They’re so colorful and fun, it’s almost an addiction. Right before the school year started, I went into Staples for some printer paper and I walked out with $75 worth of sticky notes. I couldn’t help myself. What do I do with them? At work they’re stuck all around my computer reminding me of FYI’s and upcoming meetings. I’ll even stick some on my purse or bag if I need to remember to bring stuff home or make a stop on the way home. They get stuck in my car too if needed. At home, they’re all over the house. It’s my preferred method of communication. They’re the silent nag. But in a happy way! Believe me, my teenage boys don’t want to hear my voice and I don’t want to see their eyes roll. It actually works so everyone wins. Who would’ve thunk?
