I have never been unemployed for any reason ever since I landed my first job with benefits almost 26 years ago. Then the pandemic hit. After being home for almost six months and having gone through many stages of adjustments and readjustments, I think I have finally come to terms with my new homebound lifestyle.
Here are the top 10 things I’ve learned while being stuck at home…
- I really am capable of doing absolutely nothing for days and days. And I’m good at it!
- Showering every day is way overrated. Same goes for brushing my hair.
- My own weekly laundry consists of: 6 shirts, 1 pair of shorts, maybe 4 or 5 pair of underwear (don’t judge), and no bra. This is a pandemic folks. I’m not going anywhere.
- Having a glass of wine or two at 11 am is acceptable. Add a sandwich, it’s like having an early lunch out with the girls, except there are no girls and no restaurant.
- The more time I spend at home, the less time I want to spend on cooking. I like to call it, “supporting your small local businesses by getting carryout a lot”.
- Cottonelle has become my favorite toilet paper. We’ve tried so many brands over the past months, pretty much buying whatever we can get our hands on. The soft wavy durability of Cottonelle is hands down the winner.
- I feel the need to share my favorite brand of toilet paper with everyone.
- Bigfoot is REAL! Eleven seasons on Animal Planet tells me so. Eleven seasons folks.
- Even though I seem to have endless amounts of time, I still won’t exercise.
- I really do love my husband. He may be my second one but he’s the only person I could go thru a pandemic with. Sure there are times when I’d imagine slapping duct tape over his mouth but it would be hot pink duct tape because it’s a happy color. And he’d look great. When it works y’all, it really works!
Stay safe. Be healthy. Peace out!✌🏼
